No. Documents are required only in the government and military subspaces; the registry lists those two by name as the restricted ones, and the commercial space is not on that list. A company applying from Türkiye, a sole trader and a private individual all take a .com.hn name on the same terms, and you need no address, representative or trustee in Honduras. The registrant agreement, in force since 7 December 2012, asks only that the holder be an identifiable natural person over eighteen or a legally recognised legal person. There is no cap on how many names one holder may take, and priority goes to whoever applies first.

The rulebook is shared, the usage differs. The registrant agreement states expressly that the policies apply to every second-level and third-level name, so .com.hn has no separate registry, no separate eligibility test and no separate dispute procedure. The difference is practical: on .hn the competition for short names is intense and every single-character name is taken, while .com.hn is where corporate brand protection has concentrated and short names are still free. The two levels do not cover each other, so closing your name in the Honduran market means taking both of them.

From one to ten years. The registry's own agreement fixes no number and leaves the term to whatever the accepted application requested; the range is published by accredited registrars, whose listings cover .com.hn explicitly and report one to ten years for registration and one to nine years for renewal. Measurement shows that multi-year registrations genuinely exist and that intermediate values are valid, so there is no block regime here accepting even years only. Because the window after expiry is short, a longer term buys extra protection in this zone. When a change of registrar completes, the name is extended by one year.

You have roughly twenty days. The registry does not publish the chain itself; the sequence reported by accredited registrars is a five-day renewal grace period after expiry followed by a fifteen-day redemption window. At the end of that the name is reopened to the public and goes to whoever asks first; there is no separate pending-delete stage. Because the thirty-day grace plus thirty-day redemption chain of generic extensions does not exist here, the total window is close to a third of it. The registry has published no minimum-length text, but two-character .com.hn names have been registered for years and the space is not exhausted: in an August 2026 measurement several of the two-character names tried came back free. On single characters the honest answer is this: every single-character .com.hn name sampled was free, and no single-character example appears in certificate transparency logs either, but that is not a written prohibition and could equally reflect a lack of demand. Keep the two operations apart. A change of registrar is open, and once it completes the name is extended by one year, so you lose no days. The lock has to come off first: in measurement almost every .com.hn registration carried a status code blocking transfers, and corporate brands add update and delete locks on top of it. For a change of holder the registry has published no separate procedure; keeping registration data accurate and current is a contractual duty and false data is grounds for cancellation without refund.
