Yes. Article 6.6 of the policy requires registrants under com.lb, edu.lb, net.lb, org.lb and gov.lb to have a Lebanese postal address. This is not specific to the zone but a single-sentence rule covering the whole family. The registry may also ask for proof of postal address where it considers this necessary. If you are applying from abroad, settle in advance which entity will hold the name and under which address.

The registry's zone table asks for the signed LBDR-A form plus one of three documents: a current commercial circular, a trademark certificate, or private practice registration documents. The registrar collects and archives them; the registry may request them during a compliance audit or in legal proceedings. In special cases further documents may be asked for, such as an identity document, a power of attorney, or a commercial circular no older than one year.

No, not since 1 February 2021. The registry announced on that date that it had removed the trademark condition; before then names rested on a Lebanese trademark under class 35. Today a mark is one optional document among several. The relationship also runs the other way: on request the LBDR issues, through your registrar, a registration attestation that can be used to support a Lebanese trademark application.

An accredited registrar. Article 8 of the policy states that the registry operates in registry-registrar mode and does not register directly. The registrar collects the form and the documents, files the application, and specifies the name servers and the allocation period. The name does not go live at once: it waits until the registrant validates online and accepts the policy, after which it is added to the zone file and propagates within two hours.

Yes. Article 9 of the policy requires at least two authoritative name servers and insists that, when the application reaches the registry, all of them are correctly set up as authoritative for the name; in the text's words, only fully delegated domains are registered. The servers may be run by your own organisation or by another party on its behalf. A name that later stops answering authoritatively is also among the grounds for deletion.

The registry's schedule of fees defines items for one, two, three, four and five years for each zone; there is no sixth item. The policy states that a name must be renewed annually while allowing several years to be paid in advance. Registration entails a one-time registration fee followed by annual renewal fees, and registrars may charge separately for their own services.

After 120 days in total. The life-cycle document sets out the chain: for 30 days after expiry the name stays active and can be renewed; then comes a 30-day redemption period, during which the name is not active but the registrar can restore it; then a 60-day delete-pending period, during which only the registry can restore it and the system automatically charges a restore penalty. After that the name is deleted and released to everyone.

Article 11.4 of the policy states that the domain name is independent of the registrar and the registrant may freely change registrar; the losing registrar is obliged to issue the authentication code free of charge within 5 working days. Changing the registrant organisation is a different matter: the policy does not permit an in-place change of the registrant's organisation, and a transfer counts as a new application. Article 6.12 of the policy sets a clear cap: an organisation may hold at most 100 domain names under the .lb ccTLD at any one time. That is a restriction most extensions do not have and it needs planning for companies with wide brand portfolios. On the other hand, the registry dropped the second-level uniqueness restriction in 2021: an organisation meeting the requirements may register the same name in several zones, such as com.lb and org.lb.
