A company registered in Türkiye, a sole trader or a private individual all apply on identical terms, with no local address, agent or trustee involved. The registry treats a foreign customer not as an exception but as a priced category: its fee schedule sets out separate terms for holders based in Pakistan and for holders or registrars based outside it. The registry's own namespace table describes .com.pk as being for «general business, or individual», so incorporation is not required either.

No. The «com» in the label is a category tag, not a documentation gate. Nothing like a trade register extract, a tax certificate or a declaration of business activity is requested at registration; the applicant merely warrants that the statements made are true, that there is a bona fide intention to use the name on a regular basis and that no third-party rights are infringed. Documentation applies only in neighbouring namespaces: the educational space requires an institutional letter and proof of registration, and government names require an authorisation letter from the head of the organisation, with those names held inactive until the papers arrive. .com.pk sits outside that regime and works immediately.

In two-year blocks. The policy states that the maintenance fee is collected in advance every two years, and the registry's own FAQ adds the ceiling: at most ten years may be paid at once. In practice there is no one-year, three-year, five-year or seven-year .com.pk registration — the term moves in two, four and six. The registry's records show the same thing: for every name checked, the gap between the creation date and the expiry date works out as an even number of years. Gaps longer than ten years are successive renewals stacking up rather than a breach of the ceiling.

If payment has not arrived by the due date the registry de-activates the name and gives you two weeks, and only the previous holder may pay and re-activate it during that window. At the end of the period the name is offered to third parties on a pre-paid, first come first served basis. There is a second trap: no administrative action is possible on an expired name at all — the registry states that an expired domain can neither be transferred nor have its registrant record unlocked. By binding arbitration. In accepting the registration agreement you also accept that any dispute over the name will be finally settled under the rules of the local dispute centre, DNDRC. The procedure is based on ICANN's familiar domain name dispute policy, but the registry's own amendments prevail where the two conflict, and complaints go to DNDRC rather than to the providers ICANN lists. When a case is opened the registry notifies the addresses on the domain record and the respondent is given fourteen days to reply — which is why a working contact address bears directly on your ability to defend. A trademark claim counts only if the right is registered in Pakistan or recognised by its courts.

Both sit with the same registry under the same policy text, and technically they are even served from a single zone; the difference is the level and the naming rules. .pk is registered directly at the second level and gives a shorter address, but it carries the registry's two anti-phishing pattern bans: a name may not end with one of the registry's own suffixes, and in short names those strings may not appear inside the label. .com.pk sits at the third level, where those bans do not apply, so your chances of finding a free name are higher.
