Advantages and Features of Multi-Domain Wildcard SSL
A prestigious and powerful solution for your organisation / company's website and E-Commerce sites
The strongest 256-bit encryption

SHA-2 encryption forms a strong bridge between server and browser for data migration. It increases the security of users to operate on the site with 256-bit encryption, and increases the security to the highest. Multi Domain Wildcard certificate offers strong encryption with the best security standard.

2048-bit encryption

With RSA 2048-bit signature key, you can make your site more secure against MiTM attacks. This type of encryption ensures your data safety. Technically it is very difficult to hack and this provides a safer platform for your customers.

200 SAN + Wildcard Domain

You can secure unlimited subdomains under this single certificate. You can secure more than 100 of your domain names. With this feature, you will not need to pay separate certificate fees for your new domains. You will protect both subdomains and main domains. You can ensure all of these on one platform.

Simple Certificate Management

It is difficult to always remember the expiration date of a Wildcard certificate individually and may expire before you notice it due to the workload of your company. If this happens, your customers will receive unsafe alerts. However, with the multi domain wildcard certificate, this is simplified and can be controlled from just one admin panel.

The Seal of the Site

With the Multi-Domain Wildcard SSL certificate, Site Seal comes either statically or dynamically. With the safety seal that can be placed anywhere on your website, you can offer your visitors more reliable platform.

Warranty Level

Multi-Domain Wildcard customer can compensate a guarantee fee of USD 1,250,000, if a certificate is provided as faulty or violated SSL security.

Compatible with Browser and Servers

It's compatible with all browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Edge or any other even if you're browsing only. You can install multi domain wildcard on Apache, Nginx, cPanel or any server by noticing high server compatibility.

Economical

It is always friendly to budget and saves you a lot of time. Under a single certificate, it saves you money when purchasing for a single domain rather than providing full protection for the entire wildcard domain. By purchasing Multi-Domain Wildcard SSL, you can secure them all at once instead of purchasing separate certificates for each domain name. It makes admin easier and economical. The customer can also get a discount when choosing a multi-year option.

How Multi Domains Wildcard SSL Works?
In order to fulfill the requirement of this certificate, an asterisk is required before each primary domain name.

i.e:

Multi Domain Wildcard character SSL, covers the entire business module.
Common Name - * .example.com (safe example.com and all subdomains)
SAN Domain 1 - * .blog.example.org (secure blog.example.org and all subdomains)
SAN Domain 2 - * .example.net (secure www.example.net and all subdomains)

Note that Multi Domain wildcard SSL certificates are available for two validation levels: DV and OV.
256 bit Strongest encryption
256 bit Strongest encryption
SHA-2 encryption establishes a secure connection between the server and the browser and enables data transfer. With 256 bit encryption, it increases the trust of visitors to the site. The Multi-Domain wildcard offers strong encryption in accordance with the latest security standards and protocols. It keeps data safe from cyberattacks due to its solid security.
Secure up to 100 SAN + Wildcard Domains
By purchasing a Multi-Domain Wildcard SSL certificate, you can secure up to 100 different domains and unlimited subdomains. By protecting all your domains with a single certificate with the same encryption, you can save money.

2048-bit Key Encryption
2048-bit Key Encryption
2048-bit encryption is the size of an SSL certificate. SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer and ensures secure connections between your web browser and website. The advantage of 2048-bit encryption is that it is strong. It makes it more secure against the attacks.

Such a strong key encryption makes it flexible to guarantee your data security. When customers feel safe on your website, they will do more business with you and transact freely on the site. A strong signature key helps web security and customer assurance and as a result, you can increase throughput in the long run.

An SSL certificate is created through a mathematical operation using 2 keys: You are given a public key known to everyone and a private key known only to you. The resulting certificate is installed at both ends and allows users to send and receive messages that are not invisible to anyone except connected parties.
Difference between Wildcard SSL and Multi Domain SSL Certificate
If all you need is an SSL certificate that can protect a single master domain and all subdomains under it, then the Wildcard SSL certificate is the best option. With Wildcard certificates, you don't need to define subdomains when purchasing your certificate. In the certificate setup for your main domain address, you can include all of them with an asterisk (*) sign. This will work for all your subdomains, both current and future. No new setup is required even you create a new subdomain.

On the other hand, if you need protection for more than one main domain name, the best way to protect and admin them all can be happen with a SAN certificate. However, for this certificate to work, you naturally need to define all the domains, you want during certificate creation. When you want to set up for a new domain name, you must ensure that your new domain name is republished with the SAN entry along with the entries of the existing domain names.

Multi Domain SAN certificates are subject to common usages. The most common way is to protect the alternative domain names of the trademark. For example, if you have other extensions of your web address or extra projects you have created, you can use a SAN certificate to protect and admin them.
Difference between Wildcard SSL and Multi Domain SSL Certificate
Save Time and Money
Save Time and Money
Since a server can be used to cover multiple domains that require SSL, you can save money and time by choosing the Multi Domain Wildcard SSL certificate to verify all the domains you admin with a single certificate and admin them from a single point.
Rise in Google Organic Searches
Organic searches, especially on Google, are the most important traffic source for all websites. By switching to HTTPS with Multi-Domain Wildcard SSL certificate, you can increase your ranking in organic search results and be one step ahead of your competitors.
Get the trust of your visitors
Get the trust of your visitors
When visitors click on a padlock placed next to HTTPS which shows that your Multi-Domain Wildcard SSL certified website is reliable and secure, the Multi-Domain Wildcard SSL certificate will be able to enable the secure certificate authority to verify the website, and this site will give your visitors more confidence. As a result, your site will offer a secure online shopping experience.
Generate a CSR for the primary domain name only and, specify additional host names during certificate activation. After submitting the CSR, you will be able to specify additional domains. Once entering additional host names, generate also their CSR codes.

Alternatively, you can create such a CSR by using OpenSSL. Create an OpenSSL config file (for example abc.com) and, fill in the details for your CSR.
[req]

req_extensions = v3_req

[req_distinguished_name]
C = US
ST = VA
L = City
O = YourOrganization
OU = YourOrganizationUnit
CN = www.atakdomain.com
[v3_req]
keyUsage = keyEncipherment, dataEncipherment

subjectAltName = @alt_names
[alt_names]
DNS.1 = www.atakdomain.com
DNS.2 = atakdomain.com
DNS.3 = sub.atakdomain.com
DNS.4 = sub2.atakdomain.net

To generate CSR according to the above configuration, run the following command:
openssl req -new -out atakdomain.csr -newkey rsa: 2048 -nodes -sha256 -keyout atakdomain.key -config abc.conf

Note: Multi domain certificates do not support "www" subdomains by default. If you need to secure both "www.atakdomain.com" and "atakdomain.com" under a Multi-Domain certificate, both host names must be specified during certificate activation.

Multi Domain SSL Certificate Verification
The verification process depends on the type of SSL Certificate you choose. The common feature of multi-domain certificates here is that each domain must be verified before being issued.
Certificates that are validated by the domain, enables you the opportunity to choose the most appropriate validation method for each domain. Confirmation e-mail or alternative HTTP-based verification method can be used. For all domains within a multi domain SSL certificate, you do not have to use the same verification method and you are free to choose the one that suits you best.
If you are considering an Organized Verification (OV) or Extended Verification (EV) transaction, remember that all fields in the certificate must belong to the same company. Organization approved and extended approved certificates come with a site seal that can only show a company name.
Configuring a Multi-Domain Wildcard certificate is a little different from the usual simple build ups, but it's not difficult. First, you need to create a CSR (Certificate Signing Request) for a single domain. Unlike Wildcard certificates where you need to add an asterisk in front of the FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name), you only need to type the main domains you want to use (such as apiname.com, apiname.net).

You can enter your Wildcard domains in the additional SAN fields under the main domain. You can add up to 250 SANs as a maximum. Let's assume that, you will setup with 3 SANs (main domain).
Example for one main domain and multiple Wildcard domains:
  • abc.com (specified as the organization information in your CSR code)
  • * .abc.com
  • * .abc2
  • .com
Example to one primary domain and multiple Wildcard character domains (both first level and second level subdomains):
  • abc.com (specified as the organization information in your CSR code)
  • * .abc.com
  • * .entry.abc.com
Examples of multiple main domains and several Wildcard character domains (both first level and second level subdomains):
  • abc.com (specified in your CSR)
  • abc2.com
  • * .abc2
Remark: When you add a SAN element such as * .abc.com, you encrypt the unlimited subdomain, but not the domain itself.
To encrypt all your domains and subdomains, you can configure the Multi-Domain Wildcard SSL certificate this way:
  • abc.com (specified in your CSR)
  • * .abc.com (for all subdomains)
  • abc2.com
  • * .abc2.com (for all subdomains)

You can use the Multi-Domain Wildcard certificate in various situations and installations. If you want to specify an additional domain for your certificate, you can easily do it. Isn't it too easy also for you?
