The opening of the regulation states that a possibility has been created for those not registered with the Curaçao Chamber of Commerce and for those who wish to apply from abroad, and it defines that possibility as the third level: com.cw, net.cw and org.cw. Direct .cw, by contrast, is open only to entities officially established on the island. In Curaçao, the accessible extension is com.cw.

com.cw is not a separately delegated zone: queries for the zone records of com.cw return the record of .cw itself, so com.cw names are served from within the .cw zone. net.cw has the same structure. The rules list com.cw, net.cw and org.cw as the permitted forms, while edu.cw is reserved for officially recognised educational institutions on the island.
