Nothing in CZ.NIC's registration rules asks about nationality, residence or any link to Czechia; the conditions are that the name is free, complies with the naming rules, has a contact assigned in the holder role, and that the fee is paid. The only European condition sits in article 12.6 and applies on demand: if a dispute or official proceeding arises, you may be asked to supply a valid delivery address in the EU or EEA, or to name a representative with one. Every term in between is selectable — a two, three or seven-year registration is equally possible. The renewal instruction must reach CZ.NIC by the expiry date at the latest; after that, a retroactive extension is still possible during the protective period.

The day after the expiry date the name enters a sixty-day protective period. If it is not renewed within the first thirty days, CZ.NIC may withdraw the delegation; from that point changing name servers or assigning a new server set will not bring the address back, so the website and email stay down. There are two separate operations. A change of holder is made on an instruction submitted through the designated registrar, and the registrar may only submit it on the written request of both the current and the future holder; the new holder is bound by the version of the rules in force on the transfer date, and the transfer does not change the expiry date.
