No. The registry states it plainly on its own help page: anyone can register .gy names and there are no residency requirements. You do not have to supply documents, incorporate a company in Guyana or appoint a local contact. The single personal condition in the registrant agreement is that the holder be at least eighteen years old, and the holder may be a private individual just as well as a legal entity. On the registry's registration form the first and last name are mandatory while the organisation field is optional. The real obligation is keeping your contact details accurate: the agreement treats false or stale data as grounds for suspension.
