Enter the Taiwan market with a .CLUB.TW Domain

Anyone. Part Two, article X of the rulebook is a single sentence: «club.tw – No particular restriction is applied, provided that the applicant's identity has been verified via emails.» As long as your identity is verified by email, no nationality, residency, Taiwanese address, entity type or registered-association status is required, and individuals may register as well. The zone that asks for a company registration is com.tw, and the one that asks for a telecom licence is net.tw.

Yes. The rulebook ties club.tw to no field of activity at all; «club» is the name of the zone, not a condition of use. TWNIC's current FAQ likewise describes it as carrying «no applicant qualification restrictions». A name here can serve an association or sports club just as readily as a product page, a membership community or a personal project. The only limits are the general ones: registrant details must be accurate and the name must not infringe third-party rights.

No. TWNIC's FAQ even gives the date: since 1 January 2003 new applications are submitted directly online and the review of paper documents was abolished. In club.tw the only condition the rulebook imposes is that email identity verification. If the application, the email confirmation and the payment follow each other promptly, the registration can complete the same day. Transferring ownership is a different matter and does require papers: business registration certificates for both parties and a signed transfer agreement.

Part One of the rulebook: a name may not exceed 63 characters, and the permitted characters are upper and lower case Latin letters, the digits 0-9 and the hyphen. A hyphen may not sit in the first or last position and may not appear consecutively. For the floor, consult the current FAQ: at least 2 characters, with the two-character restriction applying only to names directly under .tw. Because IDN exists only at the second level, no Chinese, Japanese or other script can be registered under club.tw.

Article 15 of the guidelines: a reminder goes out by email at least 90 days before the term ends; if the fee is unpaid on the expiry date, TWNIC ceases the service and resolution of the domain name for thirty days. Pay within those thirty days and normal use returns, with the new period counted from the day after the original term ended. Otherwise the name is deleted and released for registration. There is no separate redemption stage, so the site stops resolving on the expiry date itself.

Through TWDRP, the non-litigation mechanism TWNIC established in 2001. Three conditions must hold together: the name is identical or confusingly similar to the complainant's trademark, service mark, personal name, business name or other identifier; the registrant has no rights or legitimate interests in it; and it was registered or is being used in bad faith. Cases are heard by two providers accredited by TWNIC: the Science & Technology Law Institute and the Taipei Bar Association.
