The registry's page for the extension reserves allocation to professional customers holding an account and sets no geographic condition beyond that: no establishment in French Guiana, no local address and no local representative are required. One caveat: the zone is being handed over to Afnic, and whether the eligibility test changes after the transfer is not yet settled.

The contract does impose two obligations in return: completing the application form in full is a condition of admissibility, and an incomplete form causes the registration to fail; you also declare that the information supplied is accurate, and the operator reserves the right to suspend at any time a record whose details appear fanciful.

Four characters. The registry's page for the extension puts it in a single line: domain size 4 to 63 characters. That floor is one character higher than in the overseas zones Afnic runs, so a three-letter name that works under another French extension is rejected here. Name choice is further limited by three lists: prohibited terms, reserved terms and the register of fundamental terms the registry keeps online. Names of communes and localities are no longer accepted at all.

Article 3 of the contract provides that the terms apply for the whole registration period chosen, including any renewal period. The contract touches the subject twice but indirectly: it says a registration request implies acceptance of dispute rules "where they exist", and that the customer undertakes to comply with the out-of-court procedure applicable to the domain concerned — without naming one. Article 13 governs only the operator's own powers: it may hold a name while a dispute runs and suspend it where the name is used unlawfully. Whether SYRELI will apply after the Afnic transfer is part of the consultation.

Two prohibitions are certain from the transfer date: no new registration of one- or two-character names, and no new registration under the existing naming zones inside the extension. Names registered before the transfer are expressly guaranteed to remain usable and renewable. What is uncertain is eligibility: Afnic restricts registration in its own zones to the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, while today's operator applies no geographic test. The public consultation ending no later than 30 September 2027 will settle that difference.
