Article 10.1 of the registration policy lists five items: a valid licence certificate issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, or ownership of a trademark registered in Kuwait or proof of authorisation to use an international trademark; for law firms, medical practices, audit and engineering offices a professional certificate replaces the commercial licence; a signature approval certificate; and a copy of the civil ID card of one authorised signatory. In practice this means DNS answers for a name under com.kw can be validated by a chain of signatures all the way to the root, so a tampered answer is detected by validating resolvers.

Registrant details are masked by default. The registry WHOIS returns the name, street, city, postal code, phone, fax and email fields as «REDACTED FOR PRIVACY»; what stays visible is the organisation name and the country. CITRA also publishes a separate document titled «Privacy Policy and WHOIS Data». Privacy here is therefore not a paid add-on but the default behaviour of the zone.
