Buy .ae Domain Name

No. aeDA's policy devotes a separate clause to second-level .ae and states that applicants need supply no documentary evidence and meet no requirement beyond the naming rules themselves. A company based in Türkiye and a freelancer apply on identical terms; there is no local address, agent or trustee requirement. Allocation is first come, first served, and no cap is set on how many names one holder may take. The trade licence the Emirates is known for is demanded one layer up: third-level names such as co.ae, net.ae and org.ae require a valid UAE licence and are available only through registrars based in the UAE.

For second-level .ae, no. The policy says it in a single sentence: applicants registering under .ae are not required to provide any documentary evidence. In its place there is a warranty regime — you declare that the information you supplied is true and complete, that you will not use the name for an unlawful purpose, and that you are not infringing anyone else's rights. Those warranties are treated as given afresh every single day of the licence period. The consequence is severe: if a declaration turns out to be false, incomplete or misleading, aeDA may cancel the licence and you permanently lose the name.

You get thirty days, but the site goes dark on day one. Once the expiry date passes the name is placed on hold and its name server records are removed from the DNS service; updates are refused and the only remaining operation is renewal. On day thirty renewals stop being accepted, and on day thirty-one the name is purged from the registry and opened to anyone again. The thirty-day grace plus redemption chain, and the separate redemption fee, familiar from generic extensions do not exist in this zone. In practice a month's delay loses the name for good — and the outage starts immediately.

A change of registrar runs on a password. Every .ae name is issued a domain name password at registration, and you hand it to the provider taking the name over. A properly authorised transfer completes two calendar days after the gaining registrar initiates it. The losing registrar sends you a single notification within that window, and as its wording makes clear you need not reply if you authorised the move — silence counts as consent, so object at once if a notice arrives unexpectedly. Level and eligibility. .ae is registered directly at the second level and asks the applicant for no capacity at all. co.ae is one of the restricted zones aeDA set aside for third-level registration and is reserved for entities trading in the UAE: a valid UAE trade licence, a free-zone licence, or a trademark application or registration in the UAE is required. Nor is the name itself free to choose — it must be an exact match to, an acronym or abbreviation of, or closely connected to the registrant's company, trading name or trademark. Restricted names can also only be obtained through registrars based in the UAE.

Not under .ae. The policy defines the permitted character set as a closed list: only letters of the English alphabet, digits and hyphens may be used. The same clause also forbids a hyphen in the third and fourth positions, which rules out the punycode prefix that internationalised names rely on. Arabic script has its own top-level zone instead: .امارات is operated by the same registry but is an independent extension in the root with its own policy documents. So an Arabic brand cannot be written in Arabic letters under .ae — on this side you register the Latin-script form of the name.

Less than you might expect. In a measurement taken on 16 August 2026 the registry's lookup service returned the domain name, the registrar's identifier and name, the status codes, the identifier and name of the registrant and technical contacts, the eligibility type on restricted-zone records, and the name servers. No record showed an email address, postal address or telephone number, nor a creation, expiry or last-modified date. There is also no separate privacy service to buy. Through a national adaptation of the UDRP. aeDA's «UAE Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy» reproduces the three classic elements: the name is identical or confusingly similar to a mark in which the complainant has rights, the holder has no right or legitimate interest in it, and it was registered or is being used in bad faith — the complainant must prove all three. One difference from generic extensions matters: there is no choice of provider, the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center being the sole approved forum.
