.org.ve Domain: Venezuela's Institutional Namespace
.org.ve is the institution-flavoured zone under Venezuela's country extension .ve. The extension is administered by CONATEL, the telecommunications regulator, and the registration service is run by its own unit NIC.ve, which describes itself as «the official and exclusive portal» for the country's namespace. .ve was entered in the root zone on 7 March 1991. The binding text is the National Domain Name Plan, published in Official Gazette 42.723 on 27 September 2023.
The restriction the label suggests does not exist. The registry splits its zones into special ones (gob.ve, edu.ve, mil.ve, e12.ve, gov.ve) and commercial ones, and it lists .org.ve among the COMMERCIAL group. No non-profit declaration, association registration or foundation certificate is asked for; the zone shares one set of terms, one fee and one annual term with .com.ve and .co.ve.
Registration happens directly through a user account on the NIC.ve platform, whose sign-up form offers a country list covering the whole world; note that the country and person type given when the account is opened cannot be changed later. Domain Is Active (Active Period)
Once registration is complete the domain is yours for the term you chose. You can renew at any point before expiry to keep it uninterrupted, or switch on auto-renewal so you never have to watch the date.
Redemption Period (Redemption Period)
The domain is not released the moment it expires — during this window it is still yours and can be recovered. Some extensions charge an extra restore fee at this stage, so renewing before expiry is always the cheaper route.
Pending Delete Period (Pending Delete Period)
If the redemption window is missed too, the domain enters the final stage and waits to be deleted. Renewal and recovery are no longer possible here; when the period ends the registration is removed for good.
Domain Is Available Again
Once deletion completes, the domain leaves the system and anyone can register it — popular names are often taken the same minute by someone watching. Keep auto-renewal on so a name you care about never gets this far.

Section two of the terms is explicit: «a domain name registration is valid for one year from allocation and may be renewed for equal periods as long as the corresponding payment is made». The registry's price cards also state an annual basis for both registration and renewal. Because there is no multi-year option, the renewal calendar has to be run every single year.

Fifteen calendar days. According to the registry's user manual a name moves to «Por Vencer» thirty days before expiry and a warning is sent; on the expiry date it becomes «Vencido» and only 15 days remain for renewal. Once that runs out the name is released. The payment path narrows too: bank transfer is available for the first 10 days only, while card payment works across the full 15.

The terms list privacy as a registrant right, but the data the lookup server actually returns is broader: in a measurement on 15 August 2026 the registrant organisation, street, city, postal code and country were all openly visible, while e-mail and phone were the masked fields. Transfers run through the NIC.ve platform and need approval on both sides: the incoming holder must already be a registered user and must accept the transfer inside the system. Two grounds are recognised — the holder's own decision, provided the account is in good standing, and a judicial or administrative order. One block applies: a name that is the subject of a dispute properly notified to NIC.ve cannot be transferred. The transfer carries its own fee.

Ten at most. The registry's user manual gives the limit as a number: up to ten nameservers per domain, and for each of them up to four IPv4 and four IPv6 addresses. The registry only accepts IP addresses whose reachability can be verified on the network, and it rejects duplicate IP addresses entered for the same nameserver name.
