Not with a foreign company directly. The rules tie eligibility to a single sentence: a domain name may be registered only in the name of a business, partnership, company, association, legal entity or institution that is registered in Aruba. The paperwork confirms it — a current extract from the Chamber of Commerce register, or another proof of identity and residence accepted by the registry, is required. Without a registered presence in Aruba an application will not succeed.

The rules, on the other hand, require the applicant to accept that the data provided may be disclosed to the competent local authorities. So the data is collected, but it is not published.

The rulebook refers directly to the UDRP: ICANN's uniform domain-name dispute-resolution policy applies, and the holder agrees to submit to the conditions and the judgment of the designated panel — an obligation that continues even after the registration with the registry has ended. While a dispute is pending no change is made to the registration and a transfer may be postponed. The governing law is the law of Aruba, and the competent forum is the court of first instance there.

Yes, but the procedure is documentary. The rules require a deed of transfer, submission of the incoming holder's details in line with the eligibility clause, and, where needed, further information such as the reason for the transfer; the registry may amend these rules from time to time. A registrar transfer, by contrast, does not exist in this model: registry and registrar are the same company, and every registration shows under its name.

The zone is signed: on 13 August 2026 a DS record for .aw was measured in the root zone. The registrant side, however, could not be confirmed — the WHOIS responses for the names queried reported «DNSSEC: no», and DNSSEC does not appear at all in the December 2020 rulebook. If signing your own zone matters, ask during registration whether the registry supports it; a signed zone alone does not guarantee that option.
