How to Manage Domain DNS?

DNS settings decide which server opens your website and where your email is delivered.

How to open your domain's DNS settings

1. After logging in to Atakdomain.com, click on My Account.
2. Click on My Domains.

   

3. Click DNS on the right side of the relevant domain.

   

4. On this screen, you can both update your domain's NS records (at the top of the page) and manage your DNS settings.

NameServer Management Area

With the default system addresses switch on, your domain uses Atak Domain's nameservers. To move DNS to a provider such as Cloudflare, turn the switch off, add its nameservers with + Add New DNS Area and click Save; the panel notes this takes 4 to 48 hours.

Click + Add to create a record or the bin icon to delete one. DNS Management records only take effect while your domain uses the default DNS addresses.

DNS record types explained

• A points your domain to your web server's IPv4 address.
• AAAA points your domain to an IPv6 address.
• CNAME makes a subdomain such as www an alias of another domain.
• MX tells mail servers where to deliver your email.
• TXT holds SPF, DKIM, DMARC and verification values.

How long DNS changes take to propagate

TTL is how many seconds resolvers may cache a record, so a change to a record with a TTL of 3600 usually shows up everywhere within an hour. The propagation checker in our DNS lookup tool shows which public resolvers already see the new value.
