What is my MySQL database size?

Atak Domain hosting packages do not have a predefined fixed quota for MySQL database usage. We expect our customers to use system resources in a fair and balanced manner.

As long as it does not negatively affect server performance, we allow flexible usage of database size.

How to check your MySQL database size

If your hosting account uses cPanel, open MySQL Databases: every database on the account is listed there with its current size. For a table-by-table view, select the database in phpMyAdmin, which shows the size of each table and the total for the whole database.

For an exact figure, run this query in the SQL tab of phpMyAdmin: SELECT table_schema, ROUND(SUM(data_length + index_length) / 1024 / 1024, 2) AS size_mb FROM information_schema.TABLES GROUP BY table_schema; The query returns the data and index size, in megabytes, of every database your MySQL user can access.

How to reduce MySQL database size

• On WordPress, delete old post revisions, expired transients and spam comments.
• Clear out the log tables that security, analytics and form plugins keep filling.
• After a large cleanup, select the tables in phpMyAdmin and run Optimize table to reclaim the freed space.
• Back up the database before you delete anything.
